Young Boys Wear Skirts To School When They Were Told ‘No Shorts’

When it comes to rules, we understand that they have to be put in place, and in many cases, they are there for the greater good. Of course, there are always going to be people who complain about the rules and they may even protest the establishment in some way or another in order to force change. This can be frustrating, especially when it seems as if an individual is just being angry for no reason whatsoever, but that wasn’t what happened at this school in Cornwall. Like many parts of the world, they were experiencing an extreme heatwave in the area so some young boys decided to wear shorts to school. The school said no because it was against their uniform policy.

Even though the temperatures were soaring to dangerous levels, the school still refused to change its uniform policy. That is when a 15-year-old boy named Adrian Copp got together with a dozen of his friends and decided to take a stand in the most unusual way. It occurred at the Poltair School in St. Austell, Cornwall and they demonstrated against the established rules by wearing skirts to school. That’s right, these young men were so uncomfortable in their trousers and wanted to cool off that they were willing to wear skirts to prove their point. They were removed from school and could not socialize for 24 hours, but they couldn’t say anything else because they didn’t break the rules.

Now, I don’t know about you, but I would’ve found it difficult to wear a skirt to school as a young man. You would think that you were facing ridicule but these young lads knew that they were standing up for the right thing and they wanted to get their point across.

Their mothers were even on board, saying that their children could wear shorts when they went to primary school but now that they were in a higher grade, it was not right. Then again, they also said that some of the girls were uncomfortable with wearing skirts, so I guess this one cuts both ways.
